Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y. – D'Youville men's basketball had an impressive showing at the College Center Gym Sunday afternoon, but ultimately fell 66-72 to Staten Island. Mason Putnam led the way for the Saints with 20 points, while Latrell Butler, Newson St. Louis, and Chris Stineman had 16, 11, and 10, respectively. Noah Denz grabbed 10 rebounds.
First Half Notables
- The Saints trailed 27-37 going into the intermission.
- Latrell Butler paced D'Youville in the first half, scoring 11 points. Nelson St. Louis and Mason Putnam each added six.
- Jared Sullivan contributed on the defensive side of the ball, grabbing five defensive rebounds (six total). Noah Denz had four rebounds.
- It was the shooting from the foul line that hurt the Saints going into the break, as the red and grey shot 72.7% while the Dolphins shot 90.9%.
Second Half Notables
- Putnam paced the Saints in the second half, scoring 14 points going 5-for-7 from the free throw line. Chris Stineman had 10.
- St. Louis and Denz held it down in the defensive end, grabbing six (seven total) and four (six total), respectively.
- Denz and Stineman each had a block.
