ERIE, Pa. – The D'Youville men's basketball team fell to Concord in the consolation game at the Gary Miller Classic, hosted by Gannon University, 90-69 on Saturday evening.  

Concord (2-4) used a series of scoring runs to take a 51-27 lead into the intermission. The Mountain Lions had 11-2, 8-0 and 10-2 runs in the opening half. To start the second half, Concord used a 16-9 run over six minutes to prevent D'Youville (1-5) from getting back into the contest.

The Mountain Lions didn't have a player score more than 12 points but had seven players score between eight and 12. Five Mountain Lions were in double figures.

Nelson St. Louis powered the offense for D'Youville. The first-year Saint led all scorers with a career-high 28 points (9-16) and added a pair of steals. Mason Putnam had 14 points, four assists, and three steals for the Saints. St. Louis was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 19.5 points, three rebounds, and a steal over the two games in Erie. 

D'Youville shot better from the field in the second half (43%) and went 13-of-14 from the charity stripe after the intermission. The Saints outscored the Mountain Lions 42-39 in the second 20 minutes.

Concord shot 47-percent from the field and 35-percent from 3-point range. The Saints shot 35-percent from the field but were limited to 25-percent from behind the arc. Concord had 22 assists on 38 made field goals.

Notables

The 28 points from St. Louis are the most by a Saint this season … Concord outscored D'Youville 46-30 in the paint and held a 21-4 advantage in second-chance points … Putnam tied a season-high with his 14 points and has scored in double figures three times this season
