Shannon Wilson, MS, RDN, CDN, CDCES, CSSD, serves as the Sports Dietitian for D'Youville Athletics, where she provides comprehensive performance nutrition support to Saints student-athletes. In her role, Wilson delivers individualized nutrition counseling focused on fueling strategies, hydration, injury recovery, gastrointestinal health, Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S), and disordered eating prevention. She also leads team education sessions covering performance nutrition, travel fueling, hydration, recovery, and game-day nutrition while utilizing sweat rate and sodium loss testing to develop personalized hydration plans that optimize athletic performance.
A D'Youville alumna, Wilson earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Dietetics and has built an extensive career in sports nutrition and diabetes care. She is a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), and has operated a private nutrition practice since 2015, working with athletes across a variety of sports and competitive levels. In addition to her clinical expertise, Wilson has served as an Omnipod Trainer, supporting individuals with diabetes in insulin pump therapy and performance management. A former captain of the D'Youville women's soccer team, Wilson brings firsthand experience as a collegiate student-athlete and remains committed to helping Saints athletes maximize their health, performance, and long-term well-being through evidence-based nutrition.
