Box Score BUFFALO, NY- The D'Youville University men's lacrosse team competed against the Firebirds of the University of the District of Columbia defeating them, 18-7 from Dobson Field.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Steve Lucas shined the brightest for the Saints finishing with an impressive seven goals and two assists, Stefano Evan followed suit resembling a good performance with five goals, Brady Ruffalo recorded three goals and an assist, Suman Ramlall had one goal and three assists, and Nick Sholett gathered two goals and an assist.
FIRST QUARTER
- This was where the Saints stamped their mark in the game making their presence known to the opposing Firebirds as they scored three goals while not allowing a single UDC goal to be scored, 3-0.
SECOND QUARTER
- UDC's scoring efforts began to ramp up scoring the first two goals trying to get back within it being down by as much as one goal, 3-2.
- After that the Firebirds scoring diminished for the majority of the quarter DYU went on a 4-0 run that extended out their lead, 6-2.
- For good measure at 1:54 Ruffalo found the back of the net to assist the Saints before calling it a half, 7-4.
THIRD QUARTER
- Saints got after it early on as they produced back-to-back goals, 9-3.
- After the UDC goal at 4:30 the Saints took the reigns of the remaining portion of the quarter scoring the final two goals, 11-5.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The Saints put on a show in this quarter as they gathered seven goals really trying to keep up the momentum they made for themselves, 18-7.
- DYU managed to put together one last run consisting of four straight goals granting them their first conference win of the season.
