Box Score 2 BUFFALO, NY – The D'Youville University softball team scored four in the bottom of the sixth to tie the Mercy College Mavericks at 7-7 but the visitors plated one in the seventh to take game one 8-7.
The Saints erased a 5-0 deficit in game two thanks in part to a Hannah Bardeen 3-run blast to take game two 10-8 on Sunday afternoon.
Game One: MER 8, DYU 7
- MER plated one run in both the first and third to take a 2-0 lead.
- After a pair of hit by pitches, Bryanna Dewey's bases loaded groundout cut the margin in half in the third.
- Two fourth inning triples pushed Mercy's margin to three, 4-1.
- Gianna Adamo's and Bardeen's RBI singles in the bottom half trimmed the deficit to 4-3.
- MER responded quickly once again with a 2-out double to plate a pair of unearned runs and take a 7-3 lead after five.
- Singles by Emily Przybysz, Jamie Bower and Laura Beck helped DYU get two back in the sixth, 7-5.
- Lauren Booth added an RBI fielder's choice before a first and third double steal knotted the game at 7-7.
- After a leadoff error and sacrifice bunt, a 2-out wild pitch would prove to be the game-winning run for MER as DYU went 1-2-3 to end the game.

Game Two: DYU 10, MER 8
- A leadoff triple set the table for MER to score two in the first.
- In the second, a two-out double helped MER put up three to extend the margin to 5-0.
- Beck's bases loaded walk, followed by a Booth 2-RBI single to center cut the deficit to 5-3 in the third.
- Tatiana Boyd's infield single off of the pitcher got DYU one closer at 5-4 heading to the fourth.
- A leadoff single came around to score as MER answered in the fifth, 6-4.
- After one-out singles by Bower and Adamo, Bardeen launched her sixth home run of the season to straight away center to give DYU its' first lead of the game, 7-6.
- Back-to-back singles allowed Mercy to take back the lead 8-7 in the sixth.
- A Bardeen hit by pitch followed by a Beck single to start the sixth allowed Booth to tie the game with a RBI double down the left field line, 8-8.
- With one out, Beck advanced home on the throw to first after Olivia Goderis' groundout to third before Bush's single to right added another insurance run as DYU held a 10-8 advantage heading to the seventh.
- This time, the Mavericks would go down in order to end the contest.
