BUFFALO, N.Y. – The D'Youville University women's basketball team fell to the College of Saint Rose in double overtime on Saturday by a score of 70-60.

Anna Jankovic (Averill Park, N.Y.) led the Saints in scoring with 22 points and added two steals on the defensive side.
Stella Mollica (Shillington, Pa.) facilitated the offense with nine assists and added six points.
Mercy Lasu (Winnipeg, Canada) added eight points while going four for five from the field.

D'Youville got out to a quick 5-2 lead on a mid-range jumper and three-pointer from
Sofie Fuglsang (Oberanven, Luxembourg).
Isabella Kostyal-Larrier (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and
Brianne Moxley (Penfield, N.Y.) both cashed in beyond the arc to make it an 11-7 DYU lead with 3:28 to go in the first quarter. Lasu dropped in a 15-footer to cap an 8-2 run for the Saints and give them a 13-11 lead heading into the second quarter.

After Saint Rose took the lead early in the second quarter, Jankovic sank a three-pointer to put the Saints back in front 16-15. The Golden Knights closed the quarter on a 9-3 run to take a 24-18 lead heading into halftime.

Layups from
Jaelyn Vleer-Elliott (Waterville, N.Y.) and Jankovic brought the Saints within two early in the third quarter. Saint Rose would score five straight to extend their lead back out to seven. A three-pointer from Kostyal-Larrier followed by a layup from Lasu and two free throws from
Morgan Giancaterino (Orchard Park, N.Y.) made the score even at 33 with 3:38 remaining in the quarter. The Saints retook the lead on a layup from Vleer-Elliott with 1:10 left in the quarter.

Jankovic drained a three-pointer to make it 42-40 DYU midway through the fourth quarter. Jumpers from Fuglsang and Jankovic made it a six-point lead for the Saints with just 2:39 to play. The Golden Knights came storming back to tie it up at 46 with 59 seconds left in regulation. The game headed to overtime knotted at 48-48.

Jankovic opened overtime with a three-pointer to put the Saints back in front. A layup from Vleer-Elliott gave D'Youville a 53-52 lead with 1:41 to go. The Golden Knights once again fought back to tie it at 55 with 23 seconds left in overtime, ultimately sending it to double overtime. Saint Rose reeled off a 7-0 run to start double overtime. A three-pointer from Jankovic brought the Saints within four with 1:32 to go, but the Golden Knights were able to close it out with free throws.

The Saints will be back in action at College Center on Tuesday, January 2
nd, when they host Ferris State University.
